In three-knife trimming, consistent cutting conditions are a prerequisite to uniformly high product quality. SmartPress technology was developed for this reason – providing for a gentle, controlled pressing process in which air between the paper can fully escape from the product. This approach to compact book pressing is the optimal pre-condition for the perfect trim.

Decoupled trimming unit

Optimum trimming speed is a decisive factor in the production of a high- quality, adhesive-bound end product. For that reason, the Orbit Three-Knife Trimmer’s transport, pressing and trimming unit are driven independently of one another. The independent knife drive ensures optimal trimming speed, regardless of the machine speed.
